My Easter Sunday lunch at Enmore Park Golf Club

Hope you all had an enjoyable Easter? I had a great break. On Easter Sunday, I was invited by the Head Chef Warren to Enmore Park Golf Club to sample their new menu. Eating my Sunday lunch at a Golf Club would be most different to me. It has never occurred to me before to have my Sunday lunch at a Golf Club, I have always assumed that this would only be for members.
Based in the beautiful county of Somerset. Enmore Park Golf Club is set within the Quantock hills. It offers an 18 hole course. The drive itself was approx 15 minutes from the M5. The Golf Club is set back out of the way but really easy to find. As you pull into the car park the restaurant can be found on the left. It is situated on the first floor of a stunning clubhouse which is surrounded by outstanding beauty.
Sunday lunch
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Waitresses who led us to our reserved table. (Booking is essential) We were immediately offered a jug of water and given the menus. As we sat down we embraced our surroundings. Having a meal out and looking at scenic views is something I really enjoy. Glancing around the room I noticed other families which were all well dressed had come in for their Easter Sunday lunch.
Accompanying me for the meal was my Sister Jasmine which was a complete change at the last minute as my Daughter was supposed to be my plus one. My Daughter was ill just before I was due to leave, someone had a bit too much chocolate that Morning I think. Thankfully Jasmine lives a stone through away from the Premises and was able to meet me there rather at a moment’s notice. Why family is so important
The waitress came over with our water and handed us both a menu.

Perusing the menu, the first thing I noticed was the price, I thought all the prices were very reasonable. The menu was also quite different from the norm.
SUNDAY LUNCH – STARTERS
For my Starters, I choose the Buttered Asparagus with a Poached Egg and Hollandaise Sauce, by the time I had taken all the photos my egg had hardened which was a shame but it was still delicious. The blue tablecloth really worked well for this photo. The last time I dined out was on My Mother’s Day

Jasmine was torn over the Rustic Vegetable and Pearl Barley Soup or the Flaked Cod, Courgette and Garlic Bruschetta but she would opt for the Flaked Cod as she fancied something different. I thought the presentation on both these starters were pretty impressive.

SUNDAY LUNCH – MAINS
As it was Easter I thought I would have Lamb. Lamb isn’t a meal I have very often.

The Lamb slices were very tender. The Vegetables came out in a separate bowl which we were able to add to the dinner. The Roast potatoes were already on the plate. We are lovers of the Roast potato, we definitely could have eaten a few more. The Head Chef informs me the potatoes come from Carrotts Farm based in North Petherton. A jug of gravy was given to us to share which was ample.
The food can be seen being cooked as it’s an open Kitchen.

Jasmine opted for the Roast Beef. I so wanted to try a bit of her Beef but she finished her food quite fast and I didn’t get chance!
SUNDAY LUNCH – DESERTS
Over the past year, I have become a bit of desert junkie. My new Instagram followers will find that hard to believe as I show off cakes on my Instastories quite often. A friend said to me the other day “If you choose a desert it had best be good or otherwise it’s wasted calories” I personally don’t watch calories but this quote did resonate with me.

After debating which Desert to have I choose the Chocolate and Honeycomb cheesecake, well it is Easter and I may as well join everyone else eating chocolate. I was expecting a milk chocolate cheesecake with bits of honeycomb on top but was surprised when this was given to me. It was quite gooey but yum. The salted caramel sauce was spot on also!
Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Smooth Butterscotch Sauce
Jasmine chose the Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream. I actually managed to try a bit and it was soft and fluffy as one would hope.
*********
The Waitress did check on us whilst eating but each time she came over I had just put food in my mouth and could only give hand signals. I’m not one to have a conversation with food splatting over someone.

After we finished eating we went outside to the patio area. The picture above is taken from the patio area which looks upon the golf course. We both agreed how lovely it would be to sit outside here in the Summer, whilst having a Sunday Lunch.

On the way back to the car I spotted a practice range which I missed on the way in.
Do you play Golf? I saw these chocolate Lindt golf balls and seeing as Lindt is one of my favourite chocolates I thought I would share this with you.
