Bistrot Pierre – Weston-Super-Mare

Evening at Bistrot Pierre – Weston-Super-Mare

Hello! or should I say BonJour! I recently attended Bistrot Pierre a French Restuarant in Weston-Super-Mare where I was kindly invited as a family to experience their new a la carte Spring/Summer menu. The last time I was at the Restuarant was about a year ago when I was writing about Weston-Super-Mare’s attractions

This has to be one of the best-situated Restaurants on the Seafront in Weston-Super-Mare. We were given a window table which looked out onto the Grand Pier. Being an avid lover of views and people watching this spot was ideal.

If you like dazing out and losing yourself in the moment then you have to try a table here. Our evening meal was on a Wednesday night. When we arrived it was steady and most the window tables were nearly taken except a few. I love the decor here and so enjoyed listening to the waitresses speaking in their French accents. Our Waitresses for the evening was Tinka and Kristina, both of which were friendly and informative.  To start the evening whilst perusing the menu we were given bread and butter.

DRINKS – BISTROT PIERRE – WESTON-SUPER-MARE

For drinks, I chose the Cuvée 94 red house wine. If you like your reds rich then this is a must! I really enjoyed this. The price is fair too at £4.50 for 175ml. My Daughter Natalia is fussy with drinks which I mentioned in My most recent Restuarant post she chose the fresh Orange juice, now considering the waitress Kristina told us it’s fresh, you would think that my Daughter would have guessed it would have bits in it. When it arrived she wasn’t keen on the bits in the juice.

At home fresh orange juice can always be found in the fridge but it is the smooth type.  I should have intervened when she ordered it but I was too engrossed with the menu. We didn’t want to say anything and it wasn’t until half the through the meal that we piped up when they asked if we were okay. The drink was changed for her with no issues and I apologised as I felt terrible for wasting this.Bistrot Pierre Weston-Super-Mare gluten-free

STARTERS – BISTROT PIERRE WESTON-SUPER-MARE

It was so hard what to have as a starter. I was torn between the Cassolette de moulesand the Crottin de chèvre both sounded delicious.

Bistrot Pierre Weston-Super-Mare
I opted for the Crottin de chèvre. Shown above. It is baked goats’ cheese with marinated beetroot, chicory, watercress, toasted walnuts and grain mustard dressing and is only £5.95. This is also gluten-free. I adore cheese so much and this starter was wonderful or how the French would say “formidable”

My Daughter Natalia chose the Salade de canard. This is Vietnamese crispy duck salad with soy, chilli, ginger, coriander and sesame seeds. Natalia asked for the chilli to be left out. I tried a little of her starter and it was great. Crispy duck is all time favourite of ours.

MAINS – BISTROT PIERRE – WESTON-SUPER-MARE

After taking some time to decide I opted for the Boeuf bourguignon maison. All the mains come with complimentary vegetables and potatoes.

I actually think this is good value for money from Bistrot Pierre. The beef bourguignon maison contains braised beef with shallots, red wine, mushrooms and bacon. This is also ggluten-freeand is only £14.75 and For two to share its £26.95

I added my vegetables and got stuck in. I am a huge fan of this meal. The beef was cooked perfectly and it was a joy to eat.

Natalia chose for the Confit de canard, this is a duck leg confit with Provençal vegetables and red wine jus. She even had duck for starters! She loves it. The duck leg really is a good size. Although Natalia enjoyed every bite she struggled to eat it all. This is also gluten free, in fact, there are lots of choices on the menu for those that are Gluten Free. My own Father is a celiac an Bistrot Pierre offers him a wide range of meals to choose from. He will be so chuffed when he reads this! I tried a little bit of the duck and when I return I wll be ordering this as it was so yum and plentiful.

DESSERTS – BISTROT PIERRE – WESTON-SUPER-MARE

Feeling rather full at this point and very satisfied with my meal we took a look at the Desserts Menu. I opted for the Méli mélo de fraises et meringue. Strawberry ice cream with fresh strawberries, crushed meringue, marshmallows, pistachios, strawberry coulis and crème Chantilly. This comes out in a small bowl and another gluten-free choice. The sweetness of my dessert ended my meal just right.

Natalia decided on the Délice au chocolat. This is a chocolate brownie with warm pouring chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. It comes out on quite a large plate. This dessert is £5.75. I had to try this as I’m a sucker for a nice bit of chocolate. It was moist and really chocolatey.
