At the beginning of Summer, I was in need of a new mascara. I visited the Chanel counter at John Lewis and the lady who worked for Chanel asked if I had tried their Blue mascara. My first thought was, errrr no thanks, I might have lived through the 80’s (as a youngster I might add!) I didn’t want to look like someone who was stuck there.
Have you tried blue mascara lately?
Some ladies really suit flamboyant makeup, I’m just not one of them.
The lady showed me the blue mascara and it was a dusky blue. I said I would try it. Sitting down the lady put the mascara on my lashes. One eye was the “blue night” on one and their Noir (black shade). I thought it would be a good idea to contrast the shades and then make my decision.
I have green eyes and the blue mascara did look effective. I decided I would give it a try.
It cost £28.00 from John Lewis.
I am a huge fan of Chanel. Always have been. Chanel’s packaging is just so simple and classy. After purchasing the Blue Night Le Volume De Chanel I headed out of the store with my little Chanel bag with my blue mascara in a mascara box that had also been wrapped in Chanel tissue paper.
The Application is very easy and as you pull out the Mascara brush you can see the product is evenly spread. I have used many mascaras that bring most of the product out with the brush and you end up scraping the mascara back into the tube. I found I didn’t have to do this. It goes on without any hassle.
The mascara gives a nice natural look to the lashes. It is a very subtle colour and ideal for those who like a natural look but want to try something a bit different. I found it did add volume and although it wasn’t waterproof, It didn’t smudge. The blue mascara worked really well against my green eyes.
It is a good mascara, one that I am still using now which is months later. High five to the longevity of the product. It does add volume and the product doesn’t go all clumpy when applied, which can leave your lashes look all spidery. I personally think it is a good mascara for the day, however, I will stick to black for night time. £28.00 isn’t a bad price considering the brand name and you do get a lot of usage from one tube.
