Dunster Castle Ghost Tour

This Saturday night we ventured to Dunster Castle as a family for the Ghost Tour. Halloween only a couple of days away and with our love for travel, I thought this event would suit us perfectly. I wasn’t too sure exactly what to expect as only a week ago I had experienced Fear at Avon Valley in Bristol, which was pretty scary.

Our tickets cost £13.00 each and our tour started at 10.40pm. We did try to get the earlier tickets but tickets were selling really fast.

We wrapped up warm with thick coats and scarves as thought the castle might be cold. It was certainly cold outside!

On arrival, we waited for a few minutes until the tour guide collected us. Looking around at the group I would say there was about 15 of us.  My sister Jasmine and her boyfriend John needed a hot chocolate so they grabbed one from the tent selling refreshments which cost £2.00 each.

Filming or taking photos is not allowed once the tour begins, this would spoil the whole effect.

We ventured around the castle with spooky tales and also information regarding Dunster Castle. We have visited Dunster Castle before in the daylight but this tour enabled us to see areas we would not have usually seen.

Dunster Castle was owned by the Luttrell family for 600 years. It is a spectacular castle with tons of history in each part.

The group gave a few screams at certain moments and I certainly jumped a few times which was quite entertaining.

The tour lasted approximately an hour.

I wasn’t best pleased when we were in the cellar and my sister’s boyfriend decided to pull my hair at a creepy moment. Thanks for that John!

Personally, I think for something different and if you like history, this is well worth doing. My Daughter who will be 17 soon enjoyed the Tour also. (*Note it does say on their website this is not suitable for aged 13 or under which I would completely agree with) Dunster Castle is a National Trust property. I keep meaning to join the National Trust.,I think it would be great for us.

Have you experienced Dunster Castle’s Ghost Tour before? Have you ever seen a Ghost or had anything creepy happen to you?

When I was younger I thought I was being visited by ghosts as I suffered from Sleep Paralysis.
