I want to look fitter!
The truth is I am very happy on the inside. My mind is in a great place and I eat nourishing foods. However, I have gained weight and I want my body to look the best it can.
Salmon, cauliflower rice, spinach, kale, tomatoes, mushrooms, and halloumi fries from Aldi.
Giving up smoking
At the beginning of February, I gave up smoking for good. This has been a milestone for me. I have tried so many times, I’ve had acupuncture, the spray, nicotine gum, all sorts. It wouldn’t be long before I’d cave in. This has been the way for years.
It’s super sad to say this but there was a time, I used smoking before as an aid to keep weight off. Instead of eating I puffed on a cigarette. Smoking acted as an anti-food suppressant.
Smoking for me at meetings was quite a social thing. We’d all go outside and natter whilst puffing away. You felt you weren’t missing out on anything too. I also found smoking helped me when I was nervous as I would go outside for a cigarette.
The more I did meditating and practicing self-care, I found I no longer had this need for cigarettes as I wanted to be healthy. Something changed within me. I knew that I was stronger inside and that I could crack it.
This was not always the case for me. Even though I have let go of any past hurts, I still had this bad habit and carried a belief of no self-worth. I knew it and I also knew the only person that would make me change was me.

With no smoking, I wanted to pick at food more. The weight started piling on. A few almond nuts are healthy but I would eat the entire bag. Tons of calories. I became PacMan.
Over the last year, I have spent a lot of time sat down, blogging, editing videos, reading books, studying. This has meant not a lot of movement, plus I gave up my gym membership back at the end of 2017.
All of which has not helped with carrying extra pounds. This week I rejoined a gym and I can’t wait to start molding my body.
What I have found hard with weight gain is having a limited wardrobe. Even the underwear became too tight.
I sorted out my wardrobe some time back as it’s not good for the mind to see clothes that don’t fit.
My body is an hourglass figure and the weight spreads evenly including extra weight on my face which doesn’t suit me. I prefer myself without it.
For Lent I decided to test my will power some more and I decided to give up meat.
I used to say to people that I lacked in will power. Now here I am testing my will power and I’m achieving what I want.
My weight stabilised and I found I was able to control picking at food.
Now I feel great and so happy. I love my body and feel it deserves to be treated well.
I want to look fitter than before. For me, I would like my body to start being a reflection of me on the inside.
Since joining the gym I have been in every day so far.
I want to look fitter and stronger to match how I feel on the inside!
At the moment I am doing cardio and using the weight machines. My upper body strength needs to be worked on. I am looking forward to doing Yoga and some intense body workout classes.
I do hope you will follow my progress.
I would like to achieve a tighter and much more toned body. I am not worried about the scales at all just the muscle tone.
My aim of having my blog is to inspire others.
