Get your frying pans out it’s Pancake Day!
Today in the UK is Pancake day (Shrove Tuesday). All around the nation, a majority of households will be tossing their pancakes tonight. Have to say there is a knack to it which I’ve yet to master.
Thought I would put a little post together in honour of Pancake Day.
As a child how we ate pancakes was quite simple. Pancake day for us meant Mum mixing the batter, some lemon juice and a bowl of sugar. I wasn’t even that keen on the lemon juice at the time. Pancakes as a child for me were pretty bland really.
One of my favourite pastimes was to eat cake mix. Yes, I have tried pancake mix and it’s blinking horrid. Please tell me, you have tried this too!
Fast forward to this era and these days pancakes are a delight on the eye.
My personal preference for pancakes is buying the sweet fluffy ones. In fact a couple of weeks ago I put a picture on my Instastories showing my pancakes which had a chocolate spread, squirty cream, and sliced strawberries. It was so delicious. My picture I took wasn’t that good so above is a stock image and below. (ohhh the shame!)
There are so many variations these days.
I need to try blueberries with pancakes.
I noticed that some people are having waffles over pancakes. These are photos I have taken!
These were both taken at the Health and Wellness meet-ups which were held last year. You can read all about my visit to one which was held at the Crazy Fox in Bristol
Are you emptying your cupboards in preparation for Lent? Let me know if you’re having pancakes and how do you eat yours?
