Single for Valentine’s Day? I’ve put together 5 ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day when single.
Now I’m not one to say Valentine’s Day is a load of old poo just because I am single, in fact, I love Valentine’s Day when I’m in love.
Some might argue that it’s a marketing strategy but for some, it’s a reminder that they don’t have a partner for whatever reason.
I accept there will be no knock at my door delivering my amazing bouquet of flowers, On Valentine’s Day I will not be dining out all coupled up, swapping cards and looking into someone’s eyes over a candlelit dinner whilst we share romantic times.
So where does this lead me on Valentine’s Day? Do I wallow in my own self-pity due to my life choices? NO! Do I heck. I will crack on with the day just like normal. Do I believe that I will find love again? Absofreakinlutely! However, this got me thinking of ways to spend Valentine’s Day if your single.
5 ways to spend Valentine’s Day when single.
If you have other single friends make a night of it. I mean why not 2 friends go for a meal out instead? or just plan to have some fun together. Spend quality time together as you won’t be single forever!
BUY A MEAL DEAL FOR 2 AND EAT THE LOT!
Wait! I am not suggesting eating a meal deal for 2 in one sitting. However, being single shouldn’t stop you from looking at the dine in for 2 offers. You could use what you don’t eat for dinner the next day. If you decide on getting a steak or maybe salmon, then why not make it have a special treat two nights in a row?
There are usually really good deals to look out for. Marks and Spencers will be doing a deal for £20.00. I am a lover of their food.
Most people that night in the supermarkets buying a meal for one are more than likely single, so maybe Valentine’s day for singles should be single shopper night? Come on Supermarkets, think up some marketing event and make it a thing! I really think the Supermarkets are missing a trick here.
You never know, it might go from shopping aisle to church aisle! Love can happen in the most unusual places.
TAKEAWAY AND NETFLIX
Why not have a night in like you would if you were coupled? Being single means you have control over what you watch. How about a nice takeaway and watching Netflix?
I recommend checking out Luther or for something fun and easy to watch, you can’t really go wrong with a dose of Friends. The film Birdbox is trending at the moment. I have watched this and it’s okay, It didn’t really rock my world though. However, others seem to have loved it.
READ A BOOK
Why not curl up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and read an inspiring book. Over the last month or so I’ve been reading 365 Days of Happiness by Jacqueline Pirtle. As you can see by the corners its been well used.
This book really resonated with me. It’s a lovely book that inspires you to find happiness in day to day life. Each day has a positive message which can change your outlook, I’m all for that!!!! It’s a book that you’re able to keep and just read a page before you start your day. Lots of positive vibes written here.
Whatever you decide, I hope you all have a lovely Valentines Day.
